Certified: PTB Testifies AICON’s Software Highest Accuracy

The evaluation modules of the software packages AICON 3D Studio and AICON OptoCat scanning software match the standard of the German Federal Physical-Technical Institute (PTB). According to the PTB certificate, the programs fulfil highest requirements regarding accuracy.

Such certificates are more and more asked for and are indispensable in metrology now, says AICON’s Managing Director and CTO Robert Godding. They enable customers to better compare software packages and to rely on the results of the evaluations.

Analysis algorithms for best fit of geometric elements (line, plane, circle, cylinder, sphere, cone) were certified, using the “Method of least squares”. AICON’s calculated results were compared to the PTB’s reference values. The result: Certified on the highest level!

The Federal Physical-Technical Institute (PTB) in Braunschweig and Berlin is Germany’s national metrology institute. It is a scientific and technical higher federal authority falling under the competence of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
