How it works
The Leica Absolute Tracker AT403 introduces a new RapidSight aim alignment tool in addition to its orient-to-gravity feature facilitating measurement with the Z-axis aligned to gravity, which is used for levelling and machine and/or component alignment tasks. Single user operation is enabled with built-in WiFi with true access point functionality and a simple PC setup, as well as remote control options via laptops, tablets or smartphones. The system’s updated distance meter technology optimizes the use of the Leica B-Probe with the laser tracker for probing operations with customizable hidden-point capability. The laser tracker also integrates new continuous measurement functionality, enabling the measurement of moving points for the first time at this level of the Leica Absolute Tracker product range. The Leica Absolute Tracker AT403 also leverages key features from its predecessors, including the unrivalled PowerLock feature that automatically re-establishes an interrupted line-of-sight without user interaction within a wide field of view.

I am quite pleased with how our global Leica Absolute Tracker engineering team was about to push our best-in-class technologies forward with a fresh viewpoint and a “metrology workshop in a box” mentality that reflects the way our customers use our products. Greater portability and robustness were baseline concepts that fueled the new design, but usability was the engine for the solution.
