Quality drives manufacturing productivity – live at Control 2016

Final preparations are underway for our stand at Control 2016 in Stuttgart Germany, at what I’m sure will be another spectacular event.

Control is the world’s leading trade fair for quality assurance and one of the biggest events for our company every year. This will mark the first time we’ve attended since rebranding from Hexagon metrology, and some people have asked if we are still relevant at a specialist quality event like Control now that we are Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. Actually, I think we are now even more relevant than before.

The theme of Control is ‘quality makes the difference’, and this is something that really resonates with our company vision. One of the key reasons for our rebrand is that we believe that metrology can and should play a more active role in improving processes and helping industrial manufacturers work in the most efficient ways possible. Manufacturers want to make quality products while increasing production speeds, reducing costs, minimising scrap and maximising efficiency. We believe that quality drives productivity, and our stand at Control 2016 aims to bring this vision to life.

Highlighting four manufacturing industry applications – machinery and powertrain, positioning and assembly, freeform manufacturing, and die and mould – we’ve created a technology experience that shows hardware and software solutions working together to improve production. On our application islands, visitors will be able to see how we are sensing, thinking and acting – gathering three- dimensional data, analysing it to inform decision making and using it to implement changes that actively improve production. Attendees can also step into the future of manufacturing with an immersive 360° experience, and see live TV being produced with a programme of expert interviews lined up throughout the day.

Customers can still expect to see groundbreaking technologies with the latest equipment from our portfolio on display in real-application scenarios. Among the many highlights, we’ll be demonstrating the new 7DoF Industrial Ethernet technology for real-time laser tracker automation. Visitors can also get hands on with our industrial 3D laser scanners and portable measuring arms as we demonstrate how to capture and feed detailed quality data back into the process. We hope to see you in Stuttgart!

Showcasing how great technologies power data-driven manufacturing solutions at one of the world’s biggest quality assurance events – now that’s shaping smart change.
